Well? This weekend the Brainwash Movies Film fest goes off starting TONIGHT!!! My film, ROSEMARY’S MAURY, plays Saturday night in the second to last spot, and I am very excited!! This is not only my first AI film to get in to a festival, but one of the FEW AI films to open the door. The FIRST AI films went through this last JUNE to varied reactions, and we are only a few months later, and here WE are…. I know there are a LOT of people that don’t like AI, and think it’s all just telling it what you want and BOOM there it is… That is not and wasn’t the case for me, everything was designed from the top down. Yes, it’s an AI making the images I wanted, but here is the REAL point…. It was made PURELY to make people laugh, it wasn’t made with festivals in mind or anything other than to hopefully make people laugh. So does it matter if it was animated, shot live, or done with a computer, if it was cared for and designed purely to make you laugh as much as we can. I have heard of some festivals recently where the AI films were literally BOOOOOO’ed live by the audience once they came on, and it could happen to ME Saturday night too!….. OR…. Maybe the audience will notice RIGHT AWAY that’s AI, but the subject matter and clever writing will make them laugh and laugh hard!! With every film and film festival I have done in the past, I walked in confident knowing my film had a real shot at killing it and only worried the audience may not laugh or jump when they were supposed to… THIS time? I believe if the crowd can accept that it’s AI they’ll really laugh, and THAT is everything….. I am going to try to head up there for the festival because if they laugh I want to hear it myself, and stop holding my breath…. WELL? ANYTHING can happen, and ya know? THIS is the real part… THIS is what separates US from the computers, is that humans get comic timing, and can cross their fingers and pray, everyone says those awesome words… DAVE DID IT AGAIN! 🙂 CROSS THOSE SEVERED FINGERS AND WISH US LUCK!!!
